The Waterproof Wireless Charging Head requires a minimum power input of 12V and is designed to be installed on mid-drive systems.

Currently, we only offer connector options for certain Bosch and Shimano drive units.

Please note that the brand of your e-bike may differ from the manufacturer of your drive motor.

Be sure to check the Bosch or Shimano sections below to confirm if your drive is compatible.

This product comes with a default USB-A cable, but a USB-C cable can also be purchased separately if necessary.

The charger is designed to work with mid-drive e-bikes only. Mid-drive systems have dedicated ports for providing a regulated power supply. Cables have been designed to provide a "plug + play" solution for mid-drive systems.

IMPORTANT: The charger is not compatible with hub drive e-bikes.

Which System Is Compatible?

The Power Cable Bosch Smart System is compatible with the current BES3 commonly referred to as the ‘Smart System’ drive units.

Older drive unit models (BES2 and earlier) don’t feature a dedicated accessory port and the connectors are different to the BES3 drive units. As these systems are no longer in production and the user would have to sacrifice the light port, we have chosen not to offer a BES2 cable.

How To Identify A BES2 Or BES3 System?

BES2 (Not Compatible)

If the E-bike has the following control, it is a BES2 system and we unfortunately don’t offer a cable for this system.

BES3 ‘Smart System’ (Compatible)

BES3 system e-bikes will have one of the following controllers located on the handlebars or the top tube.

System Controller BRC3100

LED Remote BRC3600

Purion 200 BRC3800

The Wireless Charger is not compatible with the Shimano E8000 and E8080 motors, which may look similar to the E7000 model.

However, you can distinguish the E8000 and E8080 by inspecting the right-hand side of the motor casing, where you’ll see a visible cutout in the horizontal grille pattern.

These motors are primarily used in mountain bikes (MTBs).

All other Shimano motors will either have their series clearly marked on the casing (EP5, EP6, EP8) or look noticeably different from the non-compatible models.

If your drive unit isn’t listed, we currently don’t offer a ready-made cable solution for your system. However, you can still connect the charger to other E-Bike systems that have an accessory port meeting the power requirements. In this case, you may need to source the appropriate connector to ensure compatibility with your E-Bike setup.

If using with a motorcycle, there are three main options we recommend for powering this Charging head.

In-built USB / 3rd Party USB Input

The USB cables can plug into inbuilt USB-A or USB-C ports on the bike. The user should ensure these USB ports can provide sufficient power.

Note: The location of the USB port may differ.

Adaptor Socket

The USB cables can be plugged into a USB cigarette lighter adaptor. We recommend using the Quad Lock Dual USB 12V Car Charger as it can provide sufficient power.

12V Smart Adaptor

As it suggests, the customer can also use this with one of our 12V smart adapters.

DO NOT hardwire the Waterproof Wireless Charging Head into a motorbike.

Other Power Supplies

If using another power supply, such as a power bank, we recommend reviewing these power requirements before attempting to use an external power bank, as there are power requirements to charge the head consistently.

Power Requirements:

USB-A - QC 3.0 - 10W minimum, 18W or higher recommended

USB-C - PD 3.0 - 10W minimum, 18W or higher recommended

For the fixed stem cap mount in the angle-up position, the locking mechanism may be blocked by tall stem caps, shown below:

Solution:

Use the 3mm spacer included in the Stem Cap to create clearance. The M5x40mm screw (included) is required to ensure there is enough thread engagement. Shown below:

A. For the adjustable stem cap mount, the hinge blocks the charging head locking mechanism if the stem cap is flipped over as shown below:

The user must reverse the orientation of the stem cap arm so that the arm sits flush with the top of the hinge, as shown below:

Yes, The Cycle Waterproof Wireless Charging Head is 360 compatible, meaning it will fit on all 360 compatible mounts, including both the 1" and 20mm Ball Adaptors.

The Quad Lock® Waterproof Wireless Charging Head works with phones that support wireless (Qi) charging and have a compatible Quad Lock® case.

¹ All Pixel 9 models and 8a are only compatible with the USB Waterproof Wireless Charging Head, not the Hardwired version.

Important notes

• Phones must support wireless (Qi) charging.
• Devices without wireless charging (e.g., some Galaxy A series models like A36) are not compatible.
• Newly released devices may not appear on this list until compatibility testing is complete.

As a general reference, most phones charging wirelessly at around 8 to 10W can expect around 20 to 30% battery increase per hour in good conditions. If what you are seeing feels noticeably lower than this, it is worth considering a few things that commonly affect wireless charging speed: phone usage while charging, warm environments or direct sunlight, battery level above 70%, and the output of your power supply.
