FAQ
Is this product available on the website or through traditional Quad Lock distribution?
No. This product has solely been designed for a commercial opportunity with PAC Group and Amazon. This product cannot and shall not be used outside the commercial agreement.
Will the Suction Base work on curved surfaces?
The Suction Base will work on gently curved surfaces. The image below shows mounting on either side of a curved panel with a radius of R1000mm:
Based on testing, suction cup sealing is marginally more consistent when mounted on the outside of a curve. In either case, mounting on a curved surface with a radius greater than R1000mm (1m) should not pose any issues.
It can be difficult to convey an intuitive feel for specific radius measurements, especially as surfaces are often made up of compound curves. Always check the Suction Base to ensure it is firmly attached to the surface / substrate before use.
How do I reposition the Suction Base?
- Rotate the lever upwards to unlock the suction cup.
- Check that both the surfaces of the suction cup and the substrate are free from dust and dirt.
- Re-apply the suction cup.
How much weight will the Suction Base hold?
This product has been exclusively tested with the Netradyne Driver•i® D-450 system, as such rated for a maximum payload mass of 600 grams.
What are the recommended windscreen preparations?
The Suction Base can be attached to a number of different flat and gently curved surfaces, however, it is not intended for severely curved surfaces (ie. <1m curvature radius).
The Suction Base will adhere to smooth, non-textured, non-porous surfaces such as:
- Glass or plastics such as PC or Acrylic (eg. windshields)
It is not recommended for the following substrates:
- Organic materials such as leather, unsealed wood or fabric
- Soft touch, rough or textured coating or paint
Clean the surface with an alcohol wipe and allow it to dry before attaching.
